Emma goes to Monaco!

Today, Thomas took me and Emma to Monaco to see the Monte Carlo Masters Tennis Tournament. It was a beautiful day and we saw some of the best players in the world.

Tomorrow, I am off to the clinic to have my first relaxation course in their pool. Life is rough on maternity leave!

Time to Relax!

Tuesday was the final ultrasound which still showed a healthy baby girl. Emma is approximately 1.9 kilos and 40 cm long. The doctor estimated a final term weight of around 3.5 Kilos! I guess I now know where the 8 kilos I gained so far have been going!
Although everything is going well, the doctor requested I stop working due to the Braxton Hicks contractions I've had for about a week. So, I am officially on maternity leave! I am hoping to do more than laying on my back as I've been doing the past couple days though!

You can see images from the ultrasound. I trust the doctors for this because I don't have a clue (except perhaps for the head) what they are of. We tried to get a good 3-D image, but Emma was covering her face with her hand the whole time. I guess she is camera shy!

In case you were wondering, Thomas hasn't gained any weight out of sympathy for me; but I managed to give him his first gray hairs! Perhaps I will zoom in next week so you can see :-)

Starting the countdown!

Well, next week will mark 7 months; I can't believe how fast time goes by. I have put on a couple extra kilos in the last weeks (7 in total now) and boy does it show! I can finally fit into my maternity clothes now!

Thomas and I went to Italy this weekend to check out the shops and enjoy some homemade pasta. He celebrated his 32nd birthday last week as well!

Next week is the third ultrasound; we can't wait to see Emma again!! I will probably stop working at the end of next week and I'll have more time to prepare for June.

As well, if anyone has any ideas for a nice middle name, let us know!

The Big 30!

Well, the big 30 has come and gone and I feel...well....bigger! Emma is now about 6 and a half months old and I have gained 5 kilos! Here are some pictures of her progress. We met with the doctor who will do the delivery and everything is going fine.

Thomas and I spent Easter in Austria with his family where I got over most of my bronchitis and am feeling much better. Emma got to hear her first musical in Vienna "We will Rock You" - a tribute to Queen. She had a hard time falling asleep afterwards with all the excitement :-)

Now we are back in warm France and unfortunately back to work as well.

Bronchitis

Well, I didn't manage to escape becoming sick; so I am home for another week....I guess I will get to make the walls more colorful in the apartment by creating another masterpiece :-)
The painting you see is from my last week off two weeks ago. As well a photo from last Saturday. I've gained ~5 kilos so far!

Bigger and Bigger

Here are a couple more photos taken last weekend. Last week I was off work at my doctor's request to relax, so I started painting! Thomas has been home sick most of this week, but luckily until now I seem to be immune to everything he catches!

This is our first blog to keep everyone updated on Emma!

A little background to get caught up to present day: Emma was conceived on September 14th, 2007 and so the due date is planned for around the middle of June. The first couple months were typical of many pregnancies; nausea and fatigue. After which one day I woke up and felt better! The first ultrasound was done at the end of November which confirmed one healthy baby. Thomas and I were so excited that we celebrated by getting married in Scottsdale, Arizona on December 29th! Upon arriving back in France in January, there was no more hiding my growing belly. The second ultrasound done on February 1st showed a healthy baby girl!! The picture you see above is from the middle of February.
