California Girl

Emma had her first Thanksgiving and met all her cousins. Here they all are with Grandma and Grandpa Engel. You can imagine how many photos we had to take to get them all together.

And here we are....a rare photo of the three of us together!

After the festivities, Emma took her first trip to California to beautiful San Diego. She got her first look at the Pacific ocean.

However, she didn't know she was going to be "tortured" on the USS Midway (retired aircraft carrier). Here she is in the brig (a bit too excited for my taste to be behind bars) and going face to face with the shark bomber.

It was a good thing she wasn't tortured at the San Diego zoo....these crocs are real (I had to throw a stone at them to be sure).

After such a long day, Emma relaxed in her king size bed.

Now that Thanksgiving is over...we are preparing for the next holiday....you guessed it!

Six months old!

Emma will be six months old this week. We have been trying some new colors (besides pink) now! Only two people thought she was a boy this time in blue :-)

Emma is sleeping well, but some nights are still difficult. The morning after can be hard for both mommy and Emma!

But....we have a lot of fun after Emma goes to bed when her toys become our toys! We just bought a football to help fit in with the folk around here!

Cowgirl Emma

This week we were visited by Grandma Engel. We had a great time visiting the Stockyards just outside of Ft Worth. Emma became a cowgirl and saw her first cattle drive! I was amazed at the size of those longhorns!

Emma has a girlfriend named Annabelle. Here they are chatting over dinner.

Emma is still enjoying eating....

We are looking forward the Thanksgiving in Phoenix where Emma will meet all her cousins!

Happy Halloween

Last night was Halloween....Emma went as a.....lobster! She lasted about an hour in the costume!

Emma is changing so much already. She can sit up and balance herself for 5 to 10 seconds.

She is holding her own bottle (most of the time)!

And she keeps getting cuter and cuter!

5 months old!

Emma is five months old this week!
Emma graduated to the "big girl" stroller today. She now looks forward on our walks. Apparently, this wears her out!

This week, she has been enjoying the Gerber vegetable medley, her first "real" food. She enjoys the new taste and looks forward to going in her high chair. We can now eat dinner as a family ...except that only one parent can eat at a time :-)

It is cool in the mornings now, so Emma has to bundle up for her early morning walks. Yes, the bow is there to make sure everyone knows this is a girl when she is in blue from head to toe!

And as a bonus a couple more photos....stay tuned for Emma's first Halloween!

All Moved In!

Life without internet has been rough, but I made it. We are all moved into our home and love it. I will try to catch you up on the last couple weeks with these photos!

Here is a photo of the lake just a couple blocks away. there is a 10 mile trail around the lake.

As for moving in: We were very lucky that our furniture came the same day as we needed to leave our temporary living. Emma upgrade her living standards significantly...see before and after photos here:

Emma still loves her papa...more than ever!

Grandma came and visited us last week. We did a lot of shopping and went to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens just a mile away for their pumpkin festival.

Emma is now being spoon fed rice cereal...will put some photos up later of this!
Her new favorite toy is the jumper, see photo and video!

4 months old

Emma is four months old already! At the doctor yesterday, she was measured at 24 1/2 inches and 13lbs, 13 ounces, about perfect for her age. She has a new look in her eyes these days of recognition of her surroundings...or perhaps she is planning her escape. She can almost roll on her tummy now, but gets stuck by her arm. Here are some photos.

We bought a new playmat at Ikea....can you find Emma in this photo??

Another red head

No, we didn't get a puppy....rather a car. Here is the new member of our family!

We also found a house to rent just a couple blocks from White Rock lake in East Dallas and will be moving in the first week in October.

So, this is what we have been busy doing, and here are a couple photos of our other red head!

Howdy!

Well, you guessed it...we are in Texas and boy is it big!
Leaving France was hard...some last photos on life on the beach

Even for Emma, who had to say goodbye to her boyfriend there. He tried to hide his feelings, but we could all tell he was holding back the tears...

After leaving France, we spent a week in Austria with the Moser family. We had a wonderful time and Emma enjoyed spending time with Oma and Opa.

As well, Emma wasting no time in finding a new potential boyfriend, born just three days after her! She was a little anxious as you can see...already going for the ear!

And so, Emma took her first flight! She was so good on the plane!

That's it for now...Thomas and I are looking for a new place to call home now. We'll keep you updated.
